Mt Kenya is the highest point in Kenya standing 5199m above sea level. The mountain feature is ragged series of peaks crowned with snow and slopes covered with a thick forest.
The mountain is clearly seen at dawn with the impressive summit standing over the surrounding. With ecology of afro alpine flora provides the outstanding example of evolutionary processes. This extinct volcanic mountain has three main routes for climbing which passes through forest and the moorland zone.
The highest peak is 5199meters while other lesser peak is Lenana 4985m. Climbing mt Kenya takes between 3 to 6 days crossing the forest zone with wildlife, montane vegetation then reaching to the top covered by snow.
